When installing a door handle lock, the screws that attach the handle to the door must be located on the inside of the property. Then, using an Allen wrench, install the lock by tightening the screws. Make sure that the latch or lever fits correctly into the hole. If not, you may have to enlarge the hole or use a different type of hardware to secure the plate. Regardless of the type of locking mechanism, it is important to follow the instructions carefully to ensure proper installation.

When putting in a door handle lock, it is necessary to drill a hole in the door jamb. This will accommodate the strike plate and the bolt. You should also drill a hole for the cylindrical lock. Then, insert the cylindrical lock or handle set. Once the two pieces have been installed, screw them together using the included screws. Always be sure that the screws are on the inside. Once the screws are tightened, the door is now ready to be closed.

Door handle locks come in a variety of designs. Many of them are made of stainless steel. The lever bathroom lock is designed to open from the inside by turning the snib. When a person is outside, they can turn the lever by inserting a coin into a slot. A lever bathroom lock is usually fitted with a mortice sash. When a key is inserted, the pins move into place and the bolt slides out.
