An UL Door Closer is an excellent way to secure a door. It is also easy to install and comes with a step-by-step installation guide. These devices can be used on doors weighing between 44 and 330 pounds. When you choose a UL door closer, you'll be saving money, time, and trouble in the long run.

UL door closers meet the requirements of the ADA and BHMA standards. They have over 2 million test cycles and come with a 3-hour fire rating. They can be used in a variety of commercial environments and are fully adjustable and self-regulating. They also feature different speeds, making them ideal for different situations.

ANSI Door closers are designed to meet specific requirements for door safety and durability. They can be surface-mounted or concealed in the door, and some are also concealed in the floor. ANSI Door Closer must pass specific operational and cycle tests. Optional tests must also be specified. These tests are conducted in neutral air pressure laboratories. While the tests are reliable, the results will vary in actual use, and ambient conditions can affect performance.

Commercial door closers are available in different sizes and materials. For instance, a commercial steel door will weigh more than an aluminum storefront door. Commercial door closers come with adjustable closing springs that adjust to accommodate the weight of the door. They can range from size 1 for light-weight doors to size 6 for heavy-weight doors. Non-commercial door closers do not have adjustable springs.

A commercial door closer is a mechanical device that keeps a door closed when it's opened or closed. It uses spring tension that is regulated by hydraulic fluid. This fluid passes back and forth between reservoirs and passes through valves to control how fast the door closes and opens. Some models have back checks that reverse the motion of the door if it encounters resistance.

There are two basic styles of Commercial Door Closer. One type is a parallel door closer, which sits parallel to the door when closed. These units have two arms that attach to the frame and the door spindle, and one of the arms projects perpendicular to the door. This style of door closer is aesthetically pleasing but is not the most effective.

You can also choose between two types: cast iron and aluminum. The former is lighter and is ideal for glass doors, while the latter is heavy duty and usually used for metal doors. Regardless of the style, make sure the door closer is durable. If it doesn't last, you should consider purchasing a different door closer.

Alternatively, you can choose from automatic or spring hinged door closers. Both types can be UL and CUL-listed and come with a six-level adjustment system.
